BOOKS WE ENJOYED

Merging ideas from continuous improvement, decision-making, and behavior change for effective behavior change

Atomic Habits: An Easy and Proven Way to Build Good Habits and to Break Bad Ones by James Clear.  Published by Avery, 2018.  $14.00 hardcover, 320 pages.  ISBN-13 978-0735211292

Everyone has habits, both good and bad. But not everyone knows how to form new, good habits, or give up old, bad habits.  Until this book, we would have most likely recommended Charles Duhigg’s The Power of Habit – a great book as well. James Clear ups the ante by looking at habits in a habit system and using a continuous improvement approach to build great habits by starting with and improving atomic habits.

He blends new, cutting-edge scientific insights with fascinating narratives to present a deeper understanding of why habits exist, how they work together in entire “habit systems”, and how they can be changed. His message is clear, straight forward, and profound; by harnessing this new science and understanding habits, transformation can happen in your life, your business, and your community.
